“Flipside” is set in 1965 and takes place in what used to be the KTUL radio station, Tulsa, OK. The show moves back and forth in time as well as in and out of the memories of Clara Ann Fowler, the young Oklahoma girl who was groomed into “The Singing Rage” – Miss Patti Page. From singing country songs with her sisters at home while her father played guitar, Clara first landed a job as the singing radio spokesperson “Patti Page” for the Page Milk Company from wence she would take her stage name. Her voice attracted a band manager who asked her to tour and soon she was offered a contract with Mercury Records. Following her first release “Confess” , a string of hits followed that sold over 100 million records, making Patti Page the most successful solo female recording artist of the 1950’s and one of the most successful of all time. One hundred sixty singles were released, 84 of which hit the Billboard Top 40 Charts from 1948 through 1982.
