At the Magik Theatre, imagination is education. Since the first curtain rose in 1994, Magik has played to over 1.3 million people. With a mission to promote theatre and literacy, Magik has gained a reputation for innovative, original, literature-based productions. As San Antonio’s only professional resident theatre, Magik is home to a dedicated and talented company of theatre artists and technicians. Beyond productions, Magik has developed an impressive array of arts education outreach programs for children of all ages and circumstances, including Acting & Creativity Academy, AccessAbility, X-celerated Theatre, and Shakespeare Speaks, free-in-school workshps for teens that lead up to Shakespeare in the Park, a free annual festival co-produced by Magik. Acclaimed by educators, media, artistic peers, and audiences alike, The Magik Theatre has become its region’s most comprehensive theatre arts center.
